Welcome to Julia Eats! My husband and I share a passion for food, wine, and wandering through the world in pursuit of delicious things to eat and drink. At the beginning, this blog was all about using self-guided food crawls as a way to tour a new city, learning about local culture along the way.
Like most everything, the blog has evolved over time. Food crawling is still one of our favorite ways to entertain ourselves and we will continue to do so in every country and city that we visit. Now you’ll also find us writing about wineries and craft beverages, sharing our favorite restaurant discoveries, researching local ingredients, and sharing recipes inspired by our travels.
Currently dividing our time between the US and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, we are excited to share our experiences exploring the bold, colorful, and diverse cuisine of Mexico.

I discover your page these days and it was great to see that you love Spain and our culture and how write about it. I would like to invite to visite the Northern, even there is less tourism than in the South or in the Mediterranean coast, I am sure you will enjoy it. I am from Leon where we have have good food and wine and recently a craft beer industry growing up. I invite you to discover this part of the country as well.

Jill, When are the best springtime ferias in Valencia?

Springtime? Let’s see…March is completely consumed with Las Fallas. In April we had the Mostra de Vinos y Alimentos de la Comunidad Valenciana, an awesome 5 day festival in the Turia Gardens showcasing the wine and food of Valencia. There was also an Andalusian Fair in April. The dates change each year depending on when Easter falls.

We are looking to plan an extended stay in Valencia around March and April next year. Wanted to include at least one festival. Sounds like we won’t be able to avoid them. 🙂 The Mostra de Vinos y Alimentos sounds right up my amateur alley! Do we know the dates for that yet?
